Titanium Plates for Chloride Electrolysis

Details

Titanium plates used in chloride electrolysis for non-ferrous metal extraction (like copper) serve as permanent cathode substrates. In CuCl₂-HCl electrolyte solutions, these plates resist chloride ion corrosion while ensuring cathode copper purity >99.99%. Visually, chloride electrolysis titanium plates typically appear black.

Key Parameters for Chloride Electrolysis Titanium Plates

Corrosion Resistance: <0.02mm/year in 85°C HCl-Cl₂ environment (vs. >5mm/year for stainless steel)

Conductivity Pure Ti: ≥3% IACS

Ti-Cu Clad: ≥30% IACS (reduces cell voltage by 15%)

Mechanical Strength Bending strength: ≥350MPa (resists copper deposition stress)

Thickness Cathode plate: 4-6mm

Anode basket: 2-3mm
