Nickel Cathode

Nickel cathodes are made from high-purity nickel alloys like DN or NW series. When containing 4% tungsten, they have a tensile strength of 849 MPa and last over 90,000 hours. Recycled nickel cathodes are 99.97% pure and can be used directly for making new ones. There are two main types for electrolyzers: diamond-hole mesh and elastic mesh. Diamond-hole nickel cathodes have a contact area of at least 96%. Elastic nickel cathodes have a wave height of 4.8mm. Recycled nickel cathodes make up over 30% of those used in electrolyzers. For example, N6 nickel base material can contain up to 25% recycled content. When old nickel cathodes are scrapped, over 98% of the nickel is recovered. This recovered nickel becomes a key raw material for new cathodes.
